Control circuit for vehicle automatic transmission system - has safety interlock to prevent high gear speeds

The automatic transmission comprises a conventional gear change with a gate control and a gp. gear change with servo controls. A failsafe interlock provides an inhibit mode if the gear change would result in high component speeds and damage to the transmission e.g. a changedown at higher road speeds. The failsafe control can be operated hydraulically or electrically. The electric control has a pulse generator driven from the wheels and operating in conjunction with the servo hydraulic pressure.
