The combined tilting and revolving window or a vertically sliding window provided with tilting facility has vertical side guides. The window is designed for reliable and safe working of the counterbalance weight movements. The guide block (8) has friction brake (5) actuated independently of the window tilting position. This friction brake engages with the given guide profile (17). This friction brake is held normally in braking position and it is released only when the window is in vertical position.
