In applying a wet treatment process to piece goods, there is an intermediate treatment zone between the two main treatment and dwell zones, for a treatment agent to act on the fabric. Specifically as the fabric is continuously fed into the first treatment/dwell zone, and similarly drawn out of the second treatment/dwell zones, the rate of fabric travel is increased in the intermediate zone, of the order of 3-10 times the fabric's entry and exit speeds in a forwards and backwards movement, in the vertical plane. By using a high relative movement between the fabric and the medium, the intensity of the treatment process is increased, without requiring additional space.
|
