<p>The rod seal is particularly suited to hydraulic and/or pneumatic shock absorbers. A cylindrical tube has a rod guide at the end. The guide has a concentric hole to take a piston rod moving backwards and forwards. At least one sealing ring has at least one lip around the piston rod. Static sealing is provided for the rod guide against the cylindrical tube. The sealing ring (7, 7') is connected with the rod guide (1, 1') as an integral assembly. On the air side is an additional sealing lip. The sealing ring has a radial outwards pointing convolution on its peripheral surface, fitting in a corresponding hole on the circumference of a recess opening to the air side.</p> |
