The grinding machine using magnetic powder for finishing convex surfaces has a circular magnetic plate (2) with a concave depression (3) around its periphery to hold the magnetic powder. The workpieces (22) are mounted on a disc shaped upper magnets (21) mounted on swinging arms (10) which are rotated about their axex so as to rotate inside the powder filler depression. These arms are suspended from a rotor (4) and driven about a central axis passing through the plate (2) by an arm (13). The drive shaft for this arm also drives a planet wheel system which rotates a disc (14) forming an oscillating drive for each swinging arm (10). Each arm swings inside a sleeve (11) with a toothed ring (12) forming a satellite gearwheel driven by the rotating arm (13).
