PURPOSE:To uniformize the force acting in the direction of breadth of the material to be rolled, and to improve the dimensional accuracy and passableness of strip, by arranging the looper roll, being self-inclinable taking the rooling direction as the axis, at the tip of the looper arm in the looper of the continuous rolling mill for the steel strip. CONSTITUTION:The chock 7 of the looper roll 3 is fixed to the frame 8 installed separately from the looper arm 4; the rotary shaft 9 is fixed to the frame 8; the rotary shaft 9, in one body with the looper arm 4 through the looper chock 12, turns upward and downward centering at the rotary shaft 5; at the same time, the looper arm 4 is independently rotatable taking the direction of rolling as the axis, centering at the shaft 9. The turning moments M and M', round the center 9' of the shaft 9, are generated by the force F for the breadth of the rolled strip, acting on the looper roll 3; the position of the roll 3 is kept so as to make equal above turning moments M and M'; hereby, the force acting in the direction of breadth of the rolled strip is uniformized, and the dimensional accuracy and the passableness of sheet are improved, without recessity of conventional manual adjustment. |
