摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for manufacturing a friction plate smothly and stably while improving its manufacturing yield as much as possible. SOLUTION: A center arm 29 and an end arm 31 of a first segment locator 23 suck each of friction material segments arranged on a line by each vacuum holder 35. After first and second frames 27 and 28 of the first segment locator 23 are moved downwardly in the figure by a predetermined quantity, a rotary actuator 33 is operated by the command of a control device, and the center arm 29 and the end arm 31 are respectively turned inwardly. The turning angle of the center arm 29 is 22-23 deg., and the turning angle of the end arm 31 is 67-68 deg.. Four friction material segments 11 are arranged in a semi-circle on a pallet 41 located at a station 81, and then, the vacuum holder 35 releases each of the friction material segments 11.
