<p>Resin concrete mouldings, e.g. of polyester resin with mineral additives, are produced in shell moulds coated with release agent e.g. oil, wax or film, contg. a substance which reacts chemically with the resin binder. Pref. the additive in the release agent participates in polymerisation of the resin, its reaction time with the resin being less than that required for hardening. Pref. it is a tert. amine, organo-metallic cpd. and/or organic peroxide, in amt. of >=1 wt.% esp. 3-15%. Adhesion to the mould is prevented, and the mouldings are easily removed without damage, well before the time required for complete hardening, giving increased output from the moulds.</p> |
