PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a head structure wherein stable ink ejection can be performed without lowering the ink ejection characteristic, an area of an excessive (111) face can be reduced and a low cost of the head can be realized. SOLUTION: This ink jet head comprises a nozzle 12 for ejecting ink drops, an ink ejection chamber 9 communicating with the nozzle 12, a diaphragm 8 provided to a part of the ejection chamber 9 and a driving means (electrode 16) for creating displacement on the diaphragm 8. The ejection chamber 9 and the diaphragm 8 are formed on an identical semiconductor substrate 7. A fluid resistance Ro of an orifice 10 disposed between the ejection chamber 9 and a common liquid chamber 9 and a fluid resistance Rc of the ejection chamber 9 satisfy an expression of Ro+Rc<=6×1013 (Pa.sec/m3).
