The feed duct (21), Fig. 2 (not shown), of a fluidic amplifier receiving gaseous or liquid fluid via feed port 20, is formed in the central element I and extends longitudinally through a resiliently-mounted and laterally-movable armature 10 of an electromagnet which also includes a coil 9, soft-iron yokes 17' and permanent magnet 17. The fluid is discharged from the feed duct at the free end of the armature, across cavity 12 and into a pair of symmetricallyarranged outlet ducts (23, 24) communicating with outlet ports 25, 26. The cavity 12 may be connected to a reservoir or to atmosphere. Energization of the electromagnet causes lateral deflection of the armature in the appropriate direction according to the direction of the current consequent pressure differential at ports 25, 26. Teeth 15 on armature and co-operating recesses 16 render the magnetic pull independent of deflection but they may be omitted, especially if only digital output signals are required.</p>
