PURPOSE:A yeast, rigonopsis variabilis, is specifically treated to fix the enzyme in the cells without reduction of the activity and the resulting cells are industrially used. CONSTITUTION:Trigonopsis bariabilis is subjected to activation treatment, such as treatment with a surface active agent, e.g., Triton X-10, or an organic solvent, e.g., toluene and then, the activated cells are brought into contact with glutaldehyde of 0.01-0.5% concentration in a weak alkali medium at 0-50 deg.C within 2 hr to fix the enzyme, D-aminoacid oxidase, in the cells to prepare the objective cells. The resulting cells are used for a catalyst in the oxidative deamination. |
