<p>PURPOSE:To change the vibration modes of magnetic tape and perform reading free from drop-out by providing an air supply port at the intermediate part of a magnetic head and the threading guide on the read side. CONSTITUTION:Air from an air supply port 18a provided to a damper tape 15 is blown to the intermediate part of a magnetic tape 7 between a magnetic head 4 and the threading guide 17 on the read side. Then, the mode of vibrations produced in the magnetic tape 7 between the head 4 and guide 17 when a capstan 5 is started and stopped at the specific frequency inverts 180 deg. and the tape 7 always makes contact to the head 4 at the reading-out. Hence, the production of drop-out owing to spacing of the tape is prevented.</p> |
