<p>Improved reversibly expandable structures are formed from loop assemblies (200) comprising a plurality of links each having at least one center pivot joint and a plurality of end pivot joints, each of at least two of the end pivot joints proximate to the outer edge of the loop assembly and connected to another link. Each of the plurality of links is connected to another one of the plurality of links by at least two end pivot joints thereby forming a link pair (205, 220, 235, 250). The loop assembly comprises at least three link pairs which each connected to at least two other link pairs through at least one of the end pivot joints.
