PURPOSE:To obtain a porous polypropylene membrane having improved hydrophilic nature without causing deterioration after use in water for a long time, by treating a porous membrane with a specific anionic surfactant. CONSTITUTION:A porous polypropylene membrane in the shape of a film, tube, or hollow fiber, wherein micropores having a pore size of several hundreds to several throusands of anagstroms are connected to one another from the front to the back surfaces of the substrate, is immersed in a 0.5-5.0 wt.% solution of an anionic surfactant containing one or more types of bases selected from sulfate, phosphate, and sulfonate bases for a given time, and dried to form the desired membrane. |
