The bag making machine which hot seals plastics strip has operating members spaced apart and travelling along a closed track. Pressure members travelling along a second closed track work with the operating members, and heat-sealing devices form one or more joins at right angles to the strip travel direction. A cutter is mounted on the first track, and the strip feed speed is a multiple of the speed of the operating members to form a loop. Each operating member is coupled to a hollow support having perforated sides connected to a vacuum source. The pressure members extend for only part of the track travelled by the operating ones, and the cutter is mounted at a point shortly before the machine outlet and at some distance after the end of the common track followed by the members. Contact members travel on a closed track in the second part of the working component track, and work with the joins in the strip. |
