<p>PURPOSE:To improve the life characteristics of a gapless arrester by providing an insulating gas circulating passage communicating between high voltage side and ground at a non-linear resistor outside of the arrester and a cooling heat exchanger in the passage to thereby lower the environmental temperature of the resistor. CONSTITUTION:An insulating cylinder 14 is provided around a non-linear resistor 15, and the high voltage side conductor 26 of the resistor 15 communicates through pipes 20, 32, 33, insulating tube 30, a heat exchanger 18 and a fan 31 with the ground side as an insulating gas circulating passage. Thus, even if the resistor 15 is heated by the leakage current, the environmental temperature is retained at low temperature by cooling air from the circulating passage to thereby increase the life of the non-linear resistor.</p> |
