PURPOSE: To obtain a convenient postage calculation system by allowing a user's terminal device to work a postage meter when an effective card is inserted to a card read/write unit, to transmit using information to a user card to store in a transaction table. CONSTITUTION: In order to use the postage meter 12, a user inserts the user card 18 to the card read/write unit 16 and inputs an individual identification code to the keyboard 34 of the user terminal 14. When it is respectively confirmed that a smart card is permitted with respect to the user provided with the postage meter 12 and that a proper identification code is inputted from the keyboard, the user terminal 14 works the postage meter 12 in terms of electronics. Postage meter using information is transferred also to the card 18 inserted to the card read/write unit 16. Thereby the convenient postage calculation system is formed. |
