PURPOSE:To simplify the construction of a detection device and enable the use of the device independently of the color and degree of transparency of paper, by using a microswitch as a paper level detector and as a paper presence detector. CONSTITUTION:When the uppermost paper is at a predetermined level and a lever 13 is in the position of the dotted line A, a Hall integrated circuit 15 is turned on by the magnetic field of a magnet 14 to rotate a delivery roller to supply the paper 4. When the lever 13 is displaced to another position B because of the consumption of the paper, the magnetic field of the magnet 14 does not act on the Hall integrated circuit 15. The circuit 15 is therefore turned off. As a result, the paper supply is stopped and a paper feed table 3 is elevated. When the table 3 is moved up to a prescribed level, the Hall integrated circuit 15 is turned on to resume supplying the paper. When the paper has been all supplied by repeating such steps, the front end 13a of the lever comes into contact with a metal plate 9 to finish the paper supply operation. |
