Device for damping the movement of a piston as it approaches the end position in a cylinder, consisting of a slide protruding from the surface of the piston facing the cylinder end wall, said slide being displaceable completely into the piston against the action of a spring, and placed and dimensioned such that it fully covers the orifice of a pressure medium draining channel in the end wall of the cylinder, when the slide is brought by the action of the piston into contact with the end wall of the cylinder. The slide has a through slit through which a retainer pin fastened to the piston extends in order to delimit the movement of the slide. The slit is in connection with a central axial bore in the slide, said bore opening into the end face of the slide within the border of the bore of the draining channel when the slide is covering the channel opening. By means of the slit, the pressure medium flow is choked and the piston movement is damped, firstly when the slide chokes the inflow in the channel opening when approaching same, and subsequently, when the slide is covering said opening, by the pressure medium being forced to flow out via the slit and the axial bore, whereby the pressure medium receiving portion of the slit becomes still smaller as the piston approaches the end wall, because of the slide being displaced into the piston bore. |
