The actuating drive has an electric motor (4) and a gearing. It can be mounted on a flap or valve spindle (7). It furthermore has a return spring (10). The last toothed gearing element (1) is designed as a segment gear and is provided with a hollow shaft (2) supported radially and axially restrained, with the ability for rotation, in a baseplate (3) of the actuating drive. The actuating drive carried by the spindle (7) has a screw (9), for example, for securing it against rotation. The motor (4) can remain switched on after end stops (6) have been reached, which end stops limit the angle of rotation of the segment gear (1). This actuating drive is used with air flaps, mixer taps and butterfly valves in heating and ventilation systems. The actuating drive does not require any of the hitherto required levers or linkages and, as a result it is simpler and less expensive to install and set. <IMAGE>
