Two=stage pressure regulator - uses double in=line poppets to ensure that fast response is obtained

The two stage regulator is designed to maintain a constant pressure difference between inlet and output. When actuating spindle (2) is operated the pilot poppet seat (7) moves away from the poppet (6) and air is passed from the supply (5) to outlet (18). As the outlet pressure rises the main poppet (11) is allowed to move down and the supply is cut off. As the pressure is reduced the main poppet rises to re-establish a connection from input to output and the process repeats. The two stage operation provides fast response with small actuating force requirements.
