The control system has push-buttons to set such variables as volume, bass, treble, contrast, channel etc. either remotely via free space or via wires. Rotary knobs are used to set continuous variables and are connected to pulse generators producing pulse proportional to the angular setting of the knob. The pulses are written into a computer, where they initiate an incremental change in the wanted variable. The computer updates via a data-bus the contents of storage associated with the devices that set the variables.
