For easier production of slippers or the like which have a resilient insert during manufacture the insert is prevented from distortion by a non-expanding band (17). This forms a bridge (20) over the elastic insert (15). This bridge is not connected to the elastic part except for its two ends which are joined to the elastic in the area of transverse zone (19). The non-expanding band can subsequently be gripped by the finger in the bridge zone raised and then separated from the elastic at the connecting points. No unsightly adhesive residue remains on the elastic.
