Low-cost mfr. of a rapidly revolving machine part such as a rotor which is to mounted so that tendency to uneven rotation or "whipping" is minimised by using, in addn. to a bearing at each end, a third bearing about equidistant from the end bearings and surrounding the rotor. The third bearing is installed within the rotor and its accurate alignment is achieved economically with the aid of a plastics, hardenable, mass. The third bearing is made of a plastics and features a cage with balls or rollers e.g. of polyamide-6, 6 (Hostalen (RTM) ).
