METHOD FOR MYOCARDIUM PROTECTION IN CORRECTING AORTAL HEART DEFECT

The method for myocardium protection by the retrograde cardioplegia and the assessment for the adequacy of such protection comprises the stage of cardioplegia with the pressure of the solution supplying the coronary sinus at the level of 4-5 mm Hg (with 25-min interval) and the control of the adequacy of myocardium protection using 5-mm catheter installed in the ostium of the left coronary artery and supplying the cardioplegic solution in the retrograde way. The rise of the column of cardioplegic solution in the catheter to the level of 50 mm of water for 7-9 seconds confirms the adequacy of myocardium protection performing the retrograde cardioplegia.
