The clothes hanger has a hook by which it is suspended, for instance on a washing line, and which prevents it from falling off. The hook has a closure (11, 12, 13) in the form of a ring (3) with a gap in it, separating the two ends (12) which overlap and spring back onto each other. Additionally, the ring can incorporate two fingers with forked ends and pointing upwards, on the ends of two bars on each side of the hanger shaft (2), for fixing onto the washing line.
