Thread clamp having clamping faces which are formed, on the one hand, by the surface of a stationary tongue and, on the other hand, by at least one clamping jaw. The tendency for the clamping faces to stick together, brought about by the necessary precision of the clamping faces, is eliminated in that one of the clamping faces, for example that of the clamping jaws, is given a curvature having such a radius that the bearing of the clamping jaw on the tongue takes place along a line and not over the entire face.
