2,3-Dihydro-1,4-benzoxathiins of formula (n=0 or 1, R is bonded at the 6- or 7- position and is halogen, nitro, methylsulphonylamino, trifluoromethyl, amino, alkyl or alkoxy of 1-6 carbon atoms, cycloalkyl of 3-6 carbon atoms or phenyl) are novel compounds and are lipogenesis inhibitors in warm-blooded animals.
