BIOLOGICAL SLUDGE INCINERATION IN THE RECOVERY FURNACE OF A CELLULOSE PROCESSING FACILITY This invention relates to a new method for the incineration of excess waste biological sludge from liquid effluent secondary waste water treatment facilities. This invention is intended to be equally applicable to the treatment of waste liquors from wood and similar cellulose processing operations and to all of the common chemical pulping liquors including, but not necessarily limited to, the sulfate process as well as the sulfite process where the chemicals include compounds of calcium, magnesium, sodium and ammonia and their derivatives, as well as other applicable chemicals, and to a method of recovering cooking chemicals, heat and process water from such waste liquors or pulping liquors in a recovery furnace, where applicable. The waste liquors from wood and similar cellulose processing operations may be burned in a furnace to generate steam and power, other than a recovery furnace, at the processing operation.
|
