PURPOSE:To enable a work, being processed by a lathe by being held between two centers (such as a shaft), to be processed in such a manner that when one half side of the work is done, it is overturned by being held between the centers so that the other half side can be processed without changing step. CONSTITUTION:A work 10 having been conveyed by an autoloader is held between centers 29 which are opened and closed by a screw shaft 30 having a right screw and a left screw, and it is rotated. A driving section 52 can get its generation torque decreased by putting the centers 29 into a closed circuit and increased by putting it into an open circuit so as to prevent the screw from biting, and the work 10 is held between the two centers 29 regardless of its length, and therefore, changing of step is not required. By turning a turn-table 180 deg.C, the other half side of the work 10 is processed. |
