SELECTIVE HYDROGENATION PROCESS In a process for the selective hydrogenation of unsaturated hydrocarbon components of a feedstock, the feedstock is initially passed over a hydrogenation catalyst in the absence of hydrogen to increase hydrogenation selectivity of the catalyst, after which the amount of hydrogen required is then passed over the catalyst along with the feedstock to carry out the desired hydrogenation reaction.
