摘要 <p>A wheel chock is described and includes a body of resiliently flexible material shaped to define a bottom surface, an upper surface which is inclined with respect to said bottom surface for presentation to a wheel to be restrained by the chock, and a convex leading end portion disposed between and smoothly contoured into said bottom and upper surfaces. A metal grid element is disposed on the chock body so as to extend over substantial portions of said bottom and upper surfaces and fit snugly around said leading end portion of the body. Means is provided attaching respectively opposite end portions of the grid element to said bottom and upper surfaces of the body while allowing the element to remain free of attachment to the body intermediate said end portions. The metal grid element defines a plurality of projecting edges which extend generally transversely of said surfaces of the body. The edges on the upper surface of the body are arranged for gripping engagement with a tire of a wheel to be restrained by the chock and the edges on the bottom surface of the body are arranged for gripping engagement with a support surface on which the chock is disposed, whereby downward pressure exerted on the chock by a wheel in use tends to urge the projecting edges along said bottom surface against support surface and thereby restrain the chock against movement away from the wheel.</p>
