A display substrate and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to reduce line resistance and remove a defective line by forming a data line having a double-layered structure of a lower layer of molybdenum and an upper layer of aluminum. A gate line part(120) is formed on an insulating substrate, and includes a gate line and a gate electrode branching from the gate line. A gate insulating layer(130) is formed on the insulating substrate including the gate line part. An active layer(140) is formed on the gate insulating layer corresponding to the gate electrode. A data line part(150) includes a data line intersecting the gate line on the gate insulating layer, a source electrode branching from the data line, and a drain electrode separated from the source electrode, and the data line part includes a lower layer(150a) formed of molybdenum and an upper layer(150b) formed of aluminum. A pixel electrode(170) is electrically connected to an end of the lower layer formed of molybdenum.
