PURPOSE:To detect damaged locations on the surfaces of windings, by insertion clamping an inner frame jig and an outer frame jig produced by disposing independent electrode groups to the whole surfaces of portions contacting with the inner and outer circumferences of winding ends on the inner and outer circumferences of the winding ends, and by charging electricity among the windings and the whole electrodes. CONSTITUTION:An inner frame jig 3 is a device inserted into an inner enclosure of a rotary electric machine winding end 2, the outer circumference is provided with conductivity in each unit area coinciding with the accuracy of detection required and electrode groups 5 connected to the outside by means of several lead wires 6 are arranged every each unit. An outer frame jig 7 is a device inserted into an outer enclosure of the winding end 2, and electrode groups 5 are disposed to the inner circumference in the same manner as mentioned above. Winding ends 2 are fitted by means of these inner and outer frame jigs 3, 7, and clamped and assembled by means of the outer frame jig 7. When applying voltage among the windings 2 and the whole electrodes, currents flow through the damaged portions of films on the surfaces of the windings 2. The short-circuiting locations can separately be detected in the section of the electrode groups 5 for detection, which become independent to the jigs 3, 7 every unit. |
