PURPOSE:To obtain image pickup signals where picture quality deterioration such as picture deflection is small, by making always a moving object into a static picture at an optimum position by shutter and picking up the picture by a two-dimensional pickup unit having accumulation effects. CONSTITUTION:The position of moving object 2 is detected by 4, and a shutter mechanism is driven in 6 and 7 by this detection signal and a vertical blanking signal which is applied to a two-dimensional pickup unit having accumulation effects. Signal selection circuit 8 which selects one field of pickup signals just after the exposure of the two-dimensional pickup unit dependent upon shutter control driving circuits 6 and 7 is provided, and the two-dimensional pickup unit is caused to perform continuous scanning under the shutter closed. Then, after it is detected by position detector circuit 4 that moving object 2 has reached a prescribed pickup position, the shutter switching operation is completed to perform exposure, and one field of pickup signals just after this exposure are selected by selection circuit 8 and are outputted. |
