The coin tester's sorting balances are arranged displaceably and can be moved into a position where their catching arms are situated completely outside the drop shaft. The movement of an unlocking button, optionally employing mechanical transmission elements, can be utilised to displace a sorting balance. One of the two plates forming the shaft may be designed to move due to the unlocking button and the movement of this plate may be used to displace a sorting balance.
