The three-dimensional measuring device particularly for the sole of a human foot placed on a tread surface, has a large number of feeler pins (5) arranged in a grid pattern in vertical openings in the tread surface (1). They are spring-loaded so as to press against the sole surface. Each pin is equipped with a measuring device for the distance of the pin head from the tread surface. The pins can have enlarged heads, and their amount of spring-loading can be adjustable, to simulate varying loads on the foot.
