An enclosed hollow body (1) is set up on a base (2) and its vertical walls up to a region on the bottom end (5) have a large number of access holes (4). The outer surfaces of the walls are roughened while the internal surfaces are very smooth. Inside the hollow body is a container (6) with an aromatic substance which attracts the insects. The inner surfaces of the walls are roughened into thin ring regions (7) which enclose the access holes (4). The hollow body (1) itself is in the form of a hollow cylinder.
