The height-guiding system is applied to a brush roller and/or plate brush rotating on a road-sweeping machine. The brush moving up and down in conformity with the contour. The brush is counterweighted by an adjusting force generated by a hydraulic cylinder (10) activated on one side. Oil pressure energy for this is extracted directly from the oil pressure engine's supply lead (3) feeding the brush (4). Adjusting force is thus precisely regulated in proportion to the torsional moment emanating from this engine.
