The choke coil (1) is intended for components operating in the medium frequency range, i. e. 16 to 100 kHz. The coil is formed by a cable stranded from several insulated individual wires, the number of which depends on the operating frequency i.e. increases with the rising frequency. Preferably the choke coil is wound on a cylindrical ferrite core (2). The coil may be housed in a plastics cup filled with synthetic resin. In such case it has terminal pins (3, 4) at one side in a given inserting raster pattern. The ends of the individual wires are bundles at the connecting point in the cable end sleeve.
