An electrical-cable bundle 20 is shielded against electromagnetic interference by preferably a woven-wire mesh 2 of an elongate tape 1 that is wrapped widthwise round the bundle 20 with longitudinal margins 8,11 of the tape overlapping one another. An external electrical ground-connection via a conductive element 35 disposed within the shield and exits between the tape's overlapping region. Preferably the element is a split metal collar 30 which encircles the bundle within the tape with the shielding tape clamped to it under an externally-encircling strap 37 and a lug 34 exiting the tape between the overlapping margins. Alternatively, a bundle-encircling collar (40, fig.8) has an attached flexible ground-bonding lead strap (44) which exits the tape between the overlapping margins. Alternatively, the conductive element may be in the form of a T-piece having a main sleeve-body (52,fig.13)and a branched section (54) for projecting between the overlapping margins of the tape. A lug (57,58) is used for ground connection. |
