Metal boring head with cutter bits - has guide strips providing self alignment to avoid run out of bore

The boring tool consists of a head which can be attached by an axial screw in a spindle. The head has a number of longitudinal grooves along its circumference in which cutter supports (3) and cutters inserts (1) are mounted. The position of the cutter amounts is adjustable. In the grooves between the cutter amounts, a number of rigid guide strips (11) are mounted as well as two self aligning guide strips. The aligning guide strips have an 'I' section, with the horizontal flanges heavy and the vertical section thin and flexible.
