The transport and storage system is for semi-finished parts, gear blanks etc. during the mfg. process, and whose dimensions vary between set limits. The parts are accommodated in a rectangular frame or on a platform whose dimensions are such that the largest items can be accommodated. The frames or platforms slide into a rack at selected intervals so as to keep the intervening spaces to the minimum necessary to accommodate the items. Hoders can be provided on opposite sides of the frame, of sizes to suit the items.
