In an arrangement for automatically regulating the temperature of a closed space, particularly the passenger space of a motor vehicle, electrical signals representing the desired temperature, the temperature of the air inside the passenger space and the temperature of the air immediately downstream of a heat exchanger through which flows the air intended for heating the passenger space are combined and compared with a reference signal, the result of said comparison being used for controlling an electromagnetic valve placed upstream of the heat exchanger and controlling the flow of water therethrough from the vehicle engine. The reference signal is varied as a function of the desired temperature and/or at least one of the other said temperatures, so as to obtain an automatic adaptation of the opening and closing frequency of the valve of the exchanger to maintain the average value of the space temperature at the desired temperature and between predetermined upper and lower limits. The air temperature outside the vehicle may also be taken into account in the control.

|
