Impactor for use in laying flagstones - has hard wearing cylindrical body made of plastics on end of metal handle

An impactor or bumper for use when laying flagstones has a body (1) made of plastics such as polyethylene, polypropylene, or polyurethane. The body (1) is cylindrical with a concave base and conical upper part (2) terminating in a shaft. The shaft fits in a hole (5) in the central boss (6) of the handle (4) which is made of malleable cast iron. The use of plastics results in an impactor with a longer working life than that of wooden impactors, with no tendency for the material to split.
