PURPOSE:To prevent an armature from its rotating unbalance by rotatably supporting a clutch outer of a one-way clutch, integrally rotating with an armature rotary shaft, to a machine frame, in the case of a starter providing a pinion shaft to be arranged in the armature rotary shaft. CONSTITUTION:A pinion shaft 20 is provided to be arranged in a hollow armature rotary shaft 3. A straight spline 40b is provided serving as the means stopping rotation of the armature rotary shaft 3 and a clutch outer 40. A ball bearing 41 is forced to be press fitted to a front bracket 10 serving as the machine frame. When an engine is started, the clutch outer is placed in an overrun condition, but because it is supported by the front bracket 10, no misalignment is generated in the overrun condition. In this way, an armature can be prevented from its rotating unbalance. |
