Marine structure with riser and pipeline connection - where the connection is mounted vertically and can be pivoted to align one end with the riser

An offshore platform is adapted to engage a pipeline on the ocean bed and has a deck at its upper end. A riser pipe is longitudinally glidely mounted on a support column of the platform which its upper end at the deck and a lower coupling end adjacent the lower end of the support column. A provisional conductor is releasably positioned on the support column adjacent to the riser pipe. A connecting segment is attached to the lower end of the conductor and pivotably attached to the support column. The arrangement being that pivoted movement of the provisional conductor to dispose it on the ocean floor, will align the connector segment with the riser coupling to permit fluid tight engagement between them. The arrangement allows the connection of a platform riser pipe to a pipeline without the necessity of operating underwater or using divers.
