PURPOSE:To perform spontaneous combustion as well as to increase activated fuel amount in such a way that residual existing combustion gas increase is schemed at the same time as the contacting time of said residual existing combustion gas with fuel is lengthened. CONSTITUTION:A mixed air intake port 26 is connected through a conduit 27 to a mixed air discharge port 30 which has its opening in a pump chamber 29 of a pump device 28. At the time of idling, or low load driving, a mixed air control valve 23 throttles a mixed air passage 22, and an opening/closing valve 47 is opened, because while the time (A) elapses, there is negative pressure in the pump chamber 29, in this period, the pump device 28 will inhale part of high temperature existing combustion gas from a cylinder chamber 7 through the scavenging port 18 into the mixed air passage 22, the existing combustion gas is brought into contact with the mixed air existing within the passge in the mixed air passage 22, which will be heated.
