A cooking panel for building into a kitchen unit 8 or the like has a supporting and/or shielding tray 6 for heating elements 5 formed in one piece with a profiled frame 4 in which a vitrous ceramic cooking plate 2 is seated. Attachment straps 9 which cooperate with fasteners 7 to secure the panel to the unit 8 are also formed as one piece with the profiled frame 4, by bending an outwardly extending edge portion 10 first under and inwardly and then downwardly. Generally circular-shaped pierced holes 11 are provided in the supporting and/or shielding tray 6 for access to the heating elements 5 and the pieces removed form support covers 12 for the holes, the covers being provided with tongues 14 for fixing by screws or the like, or by rotation of the covers after pushing the tongues through corresponding indents round the holes. Each support cover is provided with a stirrup spring 17 to bear against a heating element. Thermal insulation material may be provided on the sides of the supporting and/or shielding tray and/or the support covers facing the heating elements. <IMAGE> |
