<p>The present invention provides a method of producing a refractory lining on a rotatable tubular vessel having detachable end covers, comprising inserting a bearer through the tubular vessel so as to extend parallel to the longitudinal axis of the vessel, said longitudinal axis being substantially horizontal slinging a moist high refractory mass onto an internal surface of the vessel using a slinger machine mounted on the bearer and movable therealong, the slinger machine producing a stream of balls of said refractory mass in a predetermined direction which is substantially normal to said internal surface and localised axially and angularly of the vessel, and rotating the vessel and moving the slinger machine along the bearer so as to cover said internal surface with the refractory mass.</p> |
